A Crystal Apple Surprise!

Today was your typical Friday up until the end of the day.  The kids were tired, the teacher was tired, and we were all just doing our best to push through and make every moment count.

Every other Friday our school has “Hawk Huddle” at the end of the day.  This a great chance for the whole school to come together and celebrate good news, students who have been doing an excellent job, etc., etc.

At the end of each grading period one teacher is awarded the “Crystal Apple Award.”  This is an award voted on by the entire faculty and is given to a teacher the faculty and administration feel has gone above and beyond.

Today yours truly had the honor of accepting this award!  I was pretty shocked and excited to hear my name called.  What was even more rewarding was how excited all of my kindergarten kiddos were!  They couldn’t stop saying, “good job Mr. Sizemore,” for the remainder of the day.  It’s the little things…

Today also affirmed that my decision to leave the school I was at during the beginning of this year was the right choice.  You can read more about that [here].
