The WA curriculum has a ton of proofreading/editing built into it.  Generally when we wrote a story within the curriculum we spent at least a week on it and had a couple days of modeling editing/proofreading as well as peer editing.  I think you could totally adopt the shapes used for each sentence part as a proofreading strategy outside of the curriculum though!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bryce]]></description>

I used to copy and paste cute clip art onto writing paper and just have students write a story about what was happening in the picture.  I love that there is a prompt on these as well.]]></description>
